기독교복음선교회(세칭 JMS)는 7월16일자 보도자료에서 “기독교복음선교회 회원들의 자발적 참여로 16일 오후 3시 서울 종각 근처에 있는 세계적인 OTT(Over-the-top) 한국지사 건물 앞에서 집회를 열었다.”고 전했다. 이 종교 단체는 “우리는 실천 신앙의 삶을 사는 성도들로서 미디어에 의해 자행된 폭력과 누명을 참지 못하고 진실을 외치기 위해 뛰어나왔다!"고 밝혔다.
